MAGISTRATES’ COURT
Mr. Stilwell, S.M., presided over the sitting of the Magistrates’ Court. Wellington, yesterday. For striking-a num in a bar in a city hotel.. George Fletcher, who pleaded provocation. was fined £l. Maurice Walsh, labourer, was fined £2 and costs for each of two ‘breaches of his prohibition order. Lily Silver, for whom Mr. A. B. Sievwright appeared, was fined £3 and 10/costs for carrying on a secondhand dealer's business without a licence.. Herbert Edward Norton, aged 59, was fined £2 and 13/- costs for offensive behaviour toward a married -woman. For being in possession of liquor in the vicinity of a dance hall, ■ David Leon Thomson, Billie Crawford and Douglas Isbesler were each fined £3 and 10/ costs. For a. breach of the lighting restriction regulations. Nellie Eva Codyre was lined £2/10/- and 18/- costs. For removing liquor from an hotel after the closing hour, Herbert Cecil Gillette was fined £2 anil costs 10/-: for supplying liquor to a soldier. Daniel Glennon, barman, was fined £2/10/- and costs 10/-: and for selling liquor to a soldier, Percy James was fined £2/10/- and costs 10/-.
