HAWERA, October 20. The early work of horses engaged to race at the Trentham and Waverley meetings was completed this morning, under lavourable conditions, a few showers slowing up the tracks for the after-breakfast work. Both the plough and the new trim grass track were used for fast work. On the plough Bay Peter and Star Quex finished together at the end of live -covered In 1.6. Polaria sprinted three furlongs in 391. Peter’s Choice finished - several lengths ahead of Gay Tlielo at the completion of five furlongs in 1.4, the last two in 25. Reslngold went a solid rouml. running the last six turlougs in 1-3. Duncroon sprinted a cotlpio of luriongs In 25 Vol Pere and Celewayo galloped five furlongs In 1.5 3-5, the last two in 2.jJ. Cetewayo led early, but under Vai Pere finished a shade ahead at tne P °After breakfast, dn the trial grass, with the trestles 40ft. out, Corday gal oped six furlongs, covering the distance Hom the five in 1.10.
