Issue Of Catalogues
Those examples of ancient art and craft, autographed letters, of famous people, rare books and curios, heirlooms, and articles of vertu, which comprise the collection of the. Churchill patriotic auctions, have now been catalogued, and two of the four catalogues—those for
the Dunedin and Auckland auctions, to • take place on October 21 and 27 respectively—are now in the hands of collectors. " Interest will begin today at Dunedin, the first of the four saies. In connexion with the Churchill Book itself, it is announced that blds may be sent to the local radio station, and it is hoped that there will be lively provincial competition and rivalry -for the possession of this rare volume. For its sale on October 27 Auckland has published in the best style a 28-page catalogue, and the Wellington one, which will run to 32 pages, is expected to be ready for' issue this week. The Taranaki catalogue arrangements will be announced shortly. Any late gifts for the Wellington Churchill auctions will be received till two or three days before the sale. This sale is to be held in the Jacobean rooms of Kirkcaldie and Stains, Ltd. Air. A. H. Hollis (Bethune and Co.) will be the auctioneer. A Cheque for £3O has been received by the organizer of the Churchill auctions from Alessrs. Whitcombe and Tombs for royalties on the pamphlet, “What's AVrong with the War?” This amount will be allocated among the four provincial auctions.
