Missionary Day And Youth Rally Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, October IS). The Oxford Terrace Baptist Church was well filled for the Assembly Youth Rally yesterday afternoon. The chief speakers were the Rev. Allan Finlay, C.F.,. and the Rev. I*. L. A. Crampton, 8.A., who was commissioned as the first Baptist youth director for New Zealand. In his address on “Youth and the Church,” Air. Crampton said that the new venture was an indication of the spirit at the heart of their work. In a day when many were despairing of the young people this appointment showed that the Church believed in the possibilities of youth. Further, the Church recognized its responsibility to the present generation. “For youth, the achievements of the past are a challenge,” he snip. “The possibilities of the future beckon us- on. the needs of the present call us to action. For the Church of tomorrow, the youth of today aud the Christ of all the ages we dedicate ourselves to the task.” ' Today was Missionary Day of the Baptist Assembly. The annual meetings were held in the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church. That Baptists were missionary minded was demonstrated by the fact that from all their churches a total of 85 missionaries were working in various fields throughout the world. 17 on their own field iii East.
