MUSIC CIRCLE FORMED
Public Service Women’s Club The Public Service AVomen’s Club in Wellington has it wide variety of activities to interest members, not the least important phase being found in the music circle. The purpose of the club is to provide recreational and educational facilities for its members and the cultural outlet of music has been included. Under the convenership of Miss R. A. Carey, 50
members were present at the inaugural meeting of the music circle. The aim of the circle is to develop members’ talents in appreciation of music, with orchestral, instrumental, vocal and choral work." Miss Valerie Corliss addressed the gathering, relating highlights of her musical experiences in London, and dealing with well-known personalities she had met, such as Tobias Matthay, Myra Hess, Harriet Cohen and others. Items were contributed by Misses Al. Horner, A. Collins, J. Herbert, J. Arthur ami I. Anderson.
