POTATOES NOT DUG
“is the Minister aware of the fact tliat there are approximately 200 acres ot potatoes still not dug in the Oltakune district?” was a question to the Jiinister of Marketing, of which notice was given by Mr. Sutherland (Opposition, llauraki). He said it was alleged that a shortage of labour in that district was tlie cause, and the Minister was asked if he would take steps to see that these crops were gathered and made available to the consumer.
The question whether detention camps for military defaulters could be visited by official visiting justices ns were ordinary jails, and if not. whether steps would be taken by tlie Minister of Justice to arrange for this, was raised yesterday by Mr. Carr (Government, Titnaru). In a noth to his question, lie said it was understood there was no official visiting of such camps at present.
