Practice matches played in Wellington on Saturday afternoon revealed that batsmen have by no means struck form yet, and the ball was very much in the ascend' ant. Asheinlen took three for IG. Allen two for 8. Turner one for 19, Mosrt one for IS, Fitzsimmons one for 0. and Armstrong two for 2: for Hull, Pegler took six for 8, Vogtherr two for 6, Muir, one for 7, l>'lteilty. one for ,'l3.
