Teams-of-Four Match

A WIN FOR BOULCOTT

Ten teams competed in the Wellington Metropolitan Golt Association's teatns-OL-four match for the Vincent Uaru Cup on the Wellington Golt Club’s links yesterday, and the contest ended in a win tor the Boulcott Club, with a net aggregate of JUO. All the players of this team played to their handicap. The weather conditions were perteet. and the links in splendid order, but once again Hcrelaunga proved a searching' test of golf. There were many vicissitudes during the day, W. IL Dilllcur (Hull) takink 10 at the 404-yard second hole m the morning, and J. 11. The fourball beslball bogey competition in the afternoon was won by J. IL Parker (Wellington) and T. H. R. Boon (.Manor Park), who finished 9 up. W, Robson (Bouleottt and J. May (Manor Park) came next with 5 up. After tlie close of play, the captain o. the Wellington Golf Club. Mr, A. D. 8. Duncan, expressed the pleasure it gave the club to welcome members of other clubs to their links. Though the war had caused many clubs to go into recess, it was a happy inspiration on the part of the Wellington .Metropolitan Golf Association to inaugurate the teams-ol'-four match to bring members of golf clubs together. Mr. Vincent Ward, in handing the Ward Cup to Mr. R. Mitchell, captain of the Boulcott team, congratulated the team upon their steady play. Mr. 11. A. Hansen, captain of the Shandon club, thanked the Wellington dub for allowing the contest to be played upon their links. Hutt Club.—The annual match for the captain’s trophy on Saturday was won by G.
