Vice-Reg al. Government House. Wellington, October 17. Their Excellencies the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady Newall, attended by Captain H. G. Helniore, visited the Casualty Clearing Station today. ‘This afternoon her Excellency Lady Newall opened a garden party held at Our Lady of Oceania Convent, Heretaungn, in aid of the Leper Nursing Sisters. His Excellency the Governor of Fiji, attended by Lieutenant-Colonel J. A. Young, has arrived at Government House. October 18. fl’lieir Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Newall attended Divine service at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul this morning.
Dr. J. H. Beaumont, who recently left Wellington to live in Auckland, is visiting Wellington.
