APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS

Army And Air Force The following appointments and promotions of ofneons of the New Zealand Military Furers were gazetted thin week:— Territorial Force, N.Z. Artillery.—Capt. (temp.) F. W. J. May, of a heavy antiaircraft regiment, to be major (temp.). N.Z. Temporary Staff. —Major E. W. George, District Works Onicer. Southern Military District, t<» bo Hout.-colonel (temp.). Major U. E. Reid, senior medical officer in a southern military district camp, to be lieut.-colonel (temp.). Captain E. A. Porritt, M.C., to he major (temp.), and seconded to the Royal N.Z. Air Force for duty as an aerodrome defence commander. Territorial Force, N.Z. Armoured Corpts, Auckland (East Coast) Mounted Rifles.— 2nd.-Lieut, (temp, captain) P. B. Mulhern, to be major (temp.). N.Z. Infantry, Otago Regiment..--Cap-tain S. R. Crimp appointed brigade major in a South Island fortress and is granted the temporary rank of major. N.Z. Dental Corps.—Major 11. E. Suckling. 8.D.5.. to be lieut.-colonel (temp.). The following appointments were also announced last nightLieut.-Colonel J. P. Joyce, D.C.M., 2nd N.Z.E.F.. is appointed senior staff officer. artillery. Army Headquarters. Major 11. D. Harvey, 2nd N.Z.E.F.. is appointed brigade major in North Island fortress. Major (temp.) O. E. L. Rout, 2nd N.Z.E.F., is appointed assistant director of dental services in a North Island division. Major (temp.) D. W Earle. 2nd N.Z.E.F., is appointed assistant director of dental services (administration) Army Headquarters. The following officers are seconded to the Royal N.Z.
