The Trentham tracks are In first-class order at present and given reasonably fine weather between now and the spring fixture tiie going should be in great order for the racing.
Half-brotber to Foxola. - Laddie Boy, second in tile A.R.C. Wei-* come Stakes, is a half-brother by A’ermeer to Foxolal Like Foxola, lie is owned by Messrs. O. Nicholson and Eliot Davis, and he should develop useful form during tiie season. Foxola incidentally is looked upon by Aucklanders as one of their best racehorses, and there is no doubt she is a very genuine galloper. Guineas Field.
There was no acceptance for the Wellington Guineas on Wednesday, and it seems fairly obvious that some of the field left in at forfeits remained through oversight, liut there will probably be the largest field on record to go to the post on the day,. Riders at Otaki.

Ellerslie trainer R. S. Bagby has arrived at Trentham witli Plialeron and Nizam, who are to fulfil engagements at the Wellington Racing Club’s spring meeting on October 24 and 26. Another member of his team, Bright Fox, was sent to Otaki witli a view to competing at Hie Masterlou Racing Chib’s spring meeting. D. J. Arnulf is due today witli Bronzo and Landveyor. E. George will leave early next week witli Clinch, Foxlore, and Venture.
