Exports Increase; Big Favourable Balance A very substantial increase in exports, and si moderate -decrease in imports are toliown iu the overseas trade figures for August, released yesterday by the Customs Department. For the eight months of the current year exports show a huge increase and imports a moderate one, while the favourable trade balance is exceptionally high. Exports during August totalled £4,823.000, compared with £2,614.000 in August, Wil, an increase of £2.200,000. Imports for the month amounted to £3,590,000, against £4,091,000 in August, J 941, a decrease of £402,000. The favourable trade balance for the month was £1,221,000, compared with an unfavourable balance of £1,177,000 in August, 1941. Canadian Victory’Loan The High Commissioner for Canada has received cabled advice from Ottawa that the third Canadian Victory Iman, with a minimum requirement of 750,001).000 dollars, is to lie offered with two maturities.
