HAWKE’S BAY HORSES FOR OTAKI
Dominion Special Service. HASTINGS, October 15. A team of 24 from here win be competing at Otaki on Saturday, and took like enjoying a good day, as the majority possess the right form. Of the six local horses in the maiden event, tho best seem to be Dash-up and Gay Falcon. It would not be surprising to ’see this pair fighting out the issue. Arabic is the pick of the hlghwelght candidates from here, but his chance does not appear good. Of the six Hawke’s Bay horses in the Macara Handicap, Ex-Pupil and Piko Piko have only to draw good positions to be very hard, but form gives Theatre and I’omplt an average show. Ceutrepolse did not return here from Ellerslie, but joined up with Quinllvans team at Otaki. He is reported to bo veryfit, and has only to get an easy track to be very hard. In the same race is Katesbridge, who has not shown anything this season to warrant support. Maybe as in the past, she wil strike her best In the autumn. ~ , Nightward has been galloping wed enough to give him a very fair chance in the hack six, ami Coronace, fully recovered from the minor mishap sustained at the last Hastings meeting, is expected to race prominently in the Champion Hack. However, her recent form has not been encouraging. Lastik has been running good races lately without earning any money. He is, in great order. Riding are:—lL J. Callahan, Queen 'Charm; B. H.
