Collision Of Bus And Cycle

A petition against tlie Crown alleging negligence, by a driver of a New Zealand Hailways Hoad Services bus was heard iu the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday, when Arthur John Boon, Blenheim, claimed special damagesyof £250/18/and general damages of £B5O. The claim arose out of nn accident at Petone when as a result of a collision between a cycle and a bus, iilaintiff: stating he had received injuries resulting in partial incapacitation. Mr. E. Parry appeared for Boon and Mr. C. A. U. Treadwell lor the Crown, which denied negligence, but claimed alternatively Hint if. negligence was proved it had been contributory. The jury awarded jdaintiff £.102/18/speeial damages and £22-1 general damages after a retirement of about two hours.
