Following on the recent fatality when, a small boy wandered into the Newtown Zoo and was drowned in a lake there, a proposal’ came before the Wellington City Council last, night that in future children under 10 years of age bo riot admitted to the Zoo unless accompanied by an adult. Cr. IV. 11. Stevens suggested that the proposal be referred back to the reserves committee for further consideration, commenting that.tbe-Zoo-was a national ana educational place for children to attend. Cr R. L.
