It is announced from Pearl Harbour that Admiral Nimitz, Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Fleet (above), visited Guadalcanal Island a fortnight ago. He decorated there 27 navy and marine heroes, including the marine commander, Major-General Vandergrift.—P.A. Cable.
