Vice-Regal Government House. AVellington, October 13. Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Newall returned to Wellington from Nelson this morning.

Mr. Frank White, Inspector of Mines at Fiji, is a visitor to Wellington. Mr. James Fletcher, commissioner for defence construction, has returned to Wellington from Auckland. The Hon. F. G. Young, M.L.C., member of the Industrial Emergency Council, arrived at Wellington from Auckland yesterday.

Mr. J. A. McLean, chairman cf the North Auckland Power Board, arrived at Wellington from Auckland yesterday morning.

Colonel F. W, Furkert, formerly En-gineer-in-Chief for New Zealand, who has been Director of Defence Wffi’ks at Fiji for the last 15 months, has returned to New Zealand. He was given a warm welcome back to Wellington at the Rotary Club meeting yesterday. • Sir Charles Norwood, who has been away ill for the last 10 weeks, most of which time has been spent in Napier and Mastertori, lias returned to Wellington, and yesterday was welcomed by members of the AVellington Rotary Club. The Sunshine Box was £5 the richer for his return.
