BRIGADE TEAM’S FINE SHOWING
Representative Hockey
Though their opportunities for practice together had not been many, an Army brigade hockey team, styling themselves the Buffaloes, gave a Wellington repre; sehtative team a great run on Karori Park on Saturday afternoon. The score was 3-1 in Wellington’s favour, but Wellington's last goal was scored practically as the final whistle went.
The game throughout was fast and clean, played under conditions which could hardly have, been better, and neither side could be said to have held the advantage in the run of play. Outstanding was the work, of the two goalies. The brigade keeiier stopped one particularly scorching shot with his hand.
The representative team was perhaps not the best Wellington could have fielded. but it was pretty nearly so, and followers of hockey in Wellington will look forward to any further similar matches fhat cau be arranged, either a return game or games with other Army teams of such calibre.
