Bodies Found At Kamo Springs

WOMAN AND GRANDDAUGHTER

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 6.

A middle-aged woman and her granddaughter were found dead this afternoon alongside the main spring from which the public bath.at Kamo Springs mineral spa is filled. An inquest will be opened tomorrow. The victims wdre Mrs. Teresa Behm, aged about 50, wife of Jacob Behm, WTiangarei, and Irene Day, aged 15, who lived with Mr. and Mrs. Behm. The two had travelled to Kamo and were seen by a soldier at 3 p.m. when they were walking toward the springs, which are also used as a drinking place by those who wish: to use mineral water. Tjiey were later found dead by a fKistal employee. He was leaning over a railing protecting the top of the main spring and he saw the woman and the girl lying together in a buddled position on a floor below. They were clear of the spring, which bubbles up near a wall.

Dr. Goodwin, who was one of a large number of visitors to the spa, was summoned immediately and artificial respiration was attempted. This failed.
