APPEAL TO GARDENERS

Growing Of Vegetables

An appeal Io farmers, commercial growers and home gardeners to grow more vegetables was made by the chairman of the Vegetable Committee, Mr. Roberts, M.P., in an address last evening. Vegetables, he said, were now munitions of war, and a greater effort was required to produce more of them. The demand for vegetables was an increasing one that must be supplied. Though several factors had contributed to the shortage of vegetables, the most important reason was the demand by the armed forces. Special .areas were being cultivated to help produce for Army requirements. Everyone should resolve to have a worthwhile warden.
