TODAY’S RUGBY

An attractive programme will be presented by the' Wellington Rugby Union at. Athletic Park this afternoon. The annual trial of strength between Auckland and Wellington is always regarded ns the most important Rugby event of the year, and there .should be a large crowd present this afternoon to witness what should prove ae exciting a contest as any In the long series between the two provinces. The teams will be:—

Wellington: Kingstone; Hudson, Donovan, S. Jaeger; Hayes. Stolt; Johns; White, Alurpliv. Foley. Stanaway, Brownlie, Harvey, Bills, and Baumber. Auckland: R. Sorenson: E. Boggs, J. Gregory, L.. Schubert: N. Pearman, T. Rae; P. Telzlal'f; T. Pearce. D. Pike, J. Gilmour. W. Smith, G. Mitchell, D. Ryan, J. Gunning D. Mills. Pla.v will start at 3 o’clock, and the teams will be led on to the field by the Royal N.Z, Air Force Band, which will brighten the intervals with selections during the afternoon. The teams will be presented to the Governor-General of New Zealand, who. with Lady Newall, has accepted an invitation to attend the mutch. The Auckland team, under the management of Mr. L. Drake, will arrive by train this morning, and will return home tomorrow night.

An attractive curtain-raiser will be supplied at 1.30 o’clock by the final between the leading Air Force teams of the North Island. Rongotai and Ohakea. The teams will be:—
