BOY, STRUCK BY TRAIN, DIES OF INJURIES

A boy aged 12, James Lewis Roycroft, of Morrinsville, was. fatally injured and two companions barely escaped in time when they were overtaken by the Rotorua express on the viaduct near .Morrinsville station shortly after midday yesterday. Buffering from head injuries and a fractured leg, Roycroft was placed on board the Rotorua express and on arrival- at Hamilton taken to the hospital, whore he succumbed to his injuries.' Too absorbed in play, the boys failed to notice the oncoming train till the last moment. Two of them managed to scramble clear, but Roycroft was not so fortunate. He was struck by tlie engine and thrown some distance.
