AMERICAN CONTINGENT IN BELGIAN CONGO
(Received September 3, 7 p.m.) LONDON, September 2. The Belgian news agency reports that American troops have arrived at Leopoldville, in the Belgian Congo. The population greeted them enthusiastically and admired their magnificent equipment. Vichy radio says that the French Minister of Information denies allegations that Germany has demanded the neutralization of the French West African territory.
