In. announcing last night that on behalf of the people of New Zealand the Government had approved of a further grant of £5OOO being made to the Chinese Red Cross, the 'Acting-Prime Minister, Mr, Sqllivan, stated that he had received a letter from Mr, Wang Feng, Consul-General of the Republic of China, expressing to the Government and people of New Zealand his deep gratitude for this further magnificent contribution toward the relief of the sufferings which his countrymen were experiencing in their struggle against aggression.
