September 6, 1942. . at an undisclosed time in the afternoon sirens will be sounded in the above district and that from the time of the sounding of the Alarm till the Ail Clear is sounded the conditions of a state of emergency will exist in the City. (2i GENERAL PUBLIC.—The General Public in the streets and open places shall immediately disperse or take shelter till the Ail Clear is sounded. AS THE TRIAL WILL INCLUDE THE HANDLING OF UNEXPLODED BOMBS RESIDENTS IN THE VICINITY MUST HOLD THEMSELVES IN READINESS FOR THE TEMPORARY EVACUATION . OF THEIR HOMES AS DIRECTED BY THE WARDENS TILL SUCH TIME AS THE PRESUMED DANGER HAS BEEN DISPOSED OF. SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS (POUT OF WELLINGTON). By the Shipping- Control (Wellington) Notice. 1942, and iby the Shipping Safety (Wellington) Order, 1942, the Naval Board and the Minister of Defence respectively have forbidden: — (a) The ANCHORAGE of ALL VESSELS (COMPRISING SHIPPING AND CRAFT OF EVERY DESCRIPTION, INCLUDING ROWING BOATS) in the waters described in the First Schedule hereto, other than that part of those waters Included in the examination anchorage for the Port of Wellington. (b) The PASSAGE of ALL CRAFT ENGAGED IN FISHING through the waters described in the First Schedule hereto : (c) The PASSAGE of ALL VESSELS through the waters described in the Second Schedule hereto, except in accortlance witli the terms and conditions of a -written permit granted by the Naval Control Service Oiiicer at 'Wellington. Sncli a permit need not lie obtained in ilie case of sniall craft entering the port and passing through the examination service. By the Notice the Public Traffic Regulations, 1939. for the Port of Wellington are amended by revoking paragraph 22, and substituting the following paragraph, DEFINING THE NEW EXAMINATION ANCHORAGE:— “22. Examination Anchorage, Position and Limits.—The examination anchorage ifi situated in Worser Bay within the following limits: From a position OllOdeg. 4.5 cables from Steeple Rock Beacon in lat. 41deg. Ibmin. 2Ssec. 8.. long. 174 deg: 50 min. 4Ssec. E., in a 270 deg. direction for 3.5 rallies; thence in a (KMldeg. direction for ' 7 cables: thence In a OftOdeg. dlrectioij, for -5.5 cables; thence by a right line to the above-mentioned position.”—And by revoking clause (3) of paragraph 29 as set out in Notice to Mariners No. 21, of 1041.
