AUSTRALIAN SUGAR RATION
SYDNEY, August 30. From today every’ person in Australia will be,rationed to 21b. of sugar a fortnight. /The object of rationing is stated to be to enable supplies to be sent to Allies abroad and reserves built up here. The Prime Minister, Mr. Curtin, states that rationing will not hist longer than is necessary. The ration is regarded as liberal.
