The accounts of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company, Limited, for the year ended June 30 show a net profit of £15,a01, compared with £21.171 in the previous year and £28.910 in 1940. The balance brought forward was £4501, giving a total of £20,005. From this the directors recommend a dividend of 5J per cent., compared with 6 per cent, in previous years. This will absorb £15,142. leaving £4866 to be carried forward. The report states that the smaller profit, rising costs and uncertain conditions have made a reduction in dividend advisable. . Glen Afton Collieries Reporting on the year's operations of Glen Afton Collieries, the chairman, .Mr. A. Hayward, staled that the output hud again improved, 226.315 tons of coal having been produced, ns against 214,804 tons 'last year, an increase of 11,511 lons. Of the total output, the New Zealand Dairy Company’s factories consumed 61,570 tons, while suppliers received 12,620 Inns, and the railways and the public received the balance.
