BICYCLE TYRES
Warning To Stockists
A warning that non-compliance with the terms of the Bicycle Tyre and Tube Control Notice gazetted in. July ought lead to heavy penalties being, inflicted was given last night by the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan. He said the notice required that all persons must furnish a return in writing to the Factory Con troller if they had in their possession any new tyres or tubes under their control, or on order, other than those affixed to a pedal bicycle. “The fact that the supply held is small makes no difference,” said the Mmister. “The terms of the notice are clear and definite, and it is necessary that they be complied with. The rubber situation is too serious for trifling, and stockists who hold supplies and have not yet fur'nished the required return would be well advised to act at once. It is vital to the maintenance of production and to the welfare of ‘the country that the responsible authorities should be in possession of full details of the stock position, and the whereabouts of all cycle tyres and tubes. “I am issuing this note of warning for the benefit of stockists and others to whom the sale of tyres and . tubes is a sideline, and undertake to oblige customers because of the distance from a centre. Any persons, therefore, who should make a return, and who have not yet done so, should forward the necessary information at once.”
