Price Of Oranges
Sir, —May I be permitted a short space in. your columns tb ask a question of the Minister of Marketing? If his Department’s cold stores are full of oranges, wbj' must -we pay sd. (iivepence) for one? —-I am, etc., A.C.A. Otaki, August,2s. Crime And Punishment
Sir, —For many years-we have had Women’s organizations supposedly for the protection of women’s interests, but what have they done? Nothing, except watching and allowing legislation to be introduced which has definitely left their sisters in danger, and -they have never protested. Instead of selecting their' candidate at the. elections, under bond to bring in legislation dealing with crimes against women, they have sent men to Parliament. No country in the world today can exist without the greatest' help from the women and ! issue this challenge to the women’s organizations. Call meetings of women throughout New Zealand and demand immediate re-establishment of capital punishment and “the cat” as a deterrent to sexual crimes. That and that only is the way to deal with beings like the monster at Wairda.-r-I am, etc., DISGUSTED WOMAN.
