OBITUARY

Mr. Robert F. Allen

Mr. Arthur Robert Frederick Allen, Hastings, whose death from injuries received in a collision occurred recently, was a retired farmer, and oue of the earliest settlers of the district. He came to Hawke’s Bay 62 years ago. After following the butchery trade at Taradale and Toinoana works, he took up fanning at Pakowhai 35 years ago. There, for a long period, he had a large dairy herd. Fifteen years ago he acquired n large area at Puninga. which he brought into production. He retired from farming some years ago. His wife predeceased him. He leaves two daughters. Mrs. 11. Sinclair, Tangoio, and Mrs. 11. Reeves. Twyford, three sons. Messrs. J. L. Allen. Pakowhai, A. AV. Allen. Hastings, mid Frank Allen, Park Island.
