LATE MR. R. FORSYTH
A tribute to the late Mr. R. S. Forsyth, formerly London manager of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, was paid by the chairman of the board, Mr. T. A. Duncan, at the annual meeting of the electoral committee in Wellington. "Mr. Forsyth was trusted and respected by all engaged in the trade and enjoyed, to a unique degree, the confidence of the British Government departments with whom he came in contact,” said Mr Duncan. “His advice was sought by the authorities on matters connected with the imports of meat, not only from New Zealand, but from other countries also. In the course of years he became the outstanding personality of the meat trade in Britain, and the most prominent of all the Dominion trade representatives in the Old Country. His service to the producers of New Zealand cannot be computed, and the high position to which he was called by the British Government on the outbreak of war, shows the confidence and respect in which he was held."
