Snooker Championship

The final of the Wellington provincial amateur snooker ehainpions>hi|> was played last night at Billiards Ltd.. Woodward street, between J. Petley (Commercial Travellers’ Club) and L. Blackahy (Windsor Billiard Ronins). Petley won all three frames, the first by Hl to 3G, the second by <>7 to 37. and the third by irl to 53. 'The president, of the Wellington Billiards’ Association, Mr. Eaton, presented the trophies to the winner and runner-up, and also to R. Stuart, who was the player who scored the highest break other than the finalists. Mr. Eaton thanked Billiards Limited for the. use of their rooms, and W.0.1 J. Meldrum for refereeing and marking all games. The New Zealand amateur billiards championship will begin at Christchurch on Monday. The first game for the Wellington representative, S. Moses, is on Tuesday, against, the Christchurch rep resentataive. J. Munro),
