The British clothing coupons available on October 12 will have to last for five and a half instead of four and a half months. Announcing the change, the President of the Board of Trade, Dr. Hugh Dalton, said the country had to reckon with a severe strain upon its imports for some time ahead. After consultation with the Trades Union Council and the‘British Employer's’ Federation, many classes of industrial workers will receive special allowances. Children will also get extra coupons.—B.O.W.
