Incitement To Strike
SYDNEY, August 27. Two coalminers charged with inciting five young wheelers to strike were each fined £lO in the Arbitration Court. The wheelers were each fined £5. “Action such as yours might incur the displeasure of the community" said the judge. “Maybe it would think your actions traitorous.” The men were liable to punishment by a fine of £lOO and 12 months’ imprisonment. The judge said he was dealing leniently with the men, but in future the penalties would be much heavier.
