MANY FIRES IN UPPER RHINELAND
(Received August 26. 8.15 p.m.l LONDON, August 25.
Many fires were started in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden after last night's raid b.v a strong force 'of R.A.F. bombers, the Air Ministry news service states. Low clouds helped the German night fighters. One squadron met 11, but escaped without casualties. Many other fighters were over the target above the flak. Aircraft of the Fighter Command attacked railway objectives 'in the Low Countries ami destroyed a number ot engines.
