Derailment On Main Trunk

WANGANUI, August 26.
The cause of a derailment which occurred on the Main Trunk Line between Turnngarere and Ngaurukehu, 11 miles north of Taihape, early yesterday morning. was due to a defect in the undercarriage of a liogie wagon loaded with timber. 'The wagon was at the head end of a southbound freight, train when it left the rails and held up traffic for three hours and a half.
After b<-ing Jacked back Io the track it was taken to Ngaurukehu, where it was held pending examination by experts. Railway officials said today that this procedure is always adopted when a main line derailment occurs
