PUBLIC NOTICES. ' SEED POTATOES FOR PRIVATE GARDENERS ~ APPLICATIONS for limited quantities of potatoes for seed purposes will be accepted subject to the following conditions: 1. ACTION BY PRIVATE GARDENER; (a) Written application to be countersigned by a police officer to be made in the following words: “I certify that I normally plant a quantity of seed potatoes for private use and having been unable to obtain supplies, make application forpounds which I guarantee will be used solely for seed purposes. Countersignature of Signature: Police Officer Address: (b) Applications to 'be for an amount not greater than 281 b. for any one household. (c) Applications to be deposited with the nearest seedsman not later than August 31. 2. ACTION BY SEEDSMAN RECEIVING APPLICATION: (a) The total quantity of potatoes required to meet all applications received by the closing date is to be determined and forwarded to the Primary Industries Controller, Box 3004, Wellington, not later than September 5. (b) The advice of quantity to be accompanied by a statement that the original applications have been retained for inspection by an officer of the Department of Agriculture and that any potatoes supplied will be used only to fill such applications. 3. Should the quantity of potatoes available for distribution be less than the applications, these will be filled on a pro rata basis. 4. THE MAXIMUM retail, price to be charged for potatoes supplied under this scheme to be 4d. per lb. 5. CLOSING’ DATES will be strictly adhered to. 6. NO COGNISANCE will be taken of variety or .size of seed, and individual applications forwarded direct to the Primary Industries Controller will not be recognised.
