Women’s National Reserve

The annual meeting of tlie Womens National lleserve, welfare branch tor women and children, of I’orirua hospital, was held in Wellington recently. MrsPorter presided over an excellent attendance in tlie unavoidable absence ot Airs. L. O. 11. Tripp. .Mrs. A. Gutbrie was reelected president, tribule being paid ’o her splendid work for more than years. Ollier ollicers elected were: —I tcepresident, Mrs. Dunn; trustees, Mesdanies L. O. IL Tripp, Dunn, Maxwell; secretary, .Mrs. Maxwell. The committee was re-elecled, with tlie addition of Mrs. Duncan, secretary for tlie war section, and Miss N. Taylor, secretary for tlie Dominion Council of the W.N.R. Mrs. Guthrie presented the annual report and balance-sheet, both being considered highly satisfactory. Gifts ot money and of hampers had been most encouraging. Mrs. Guthrie spoke ot the help received from country districts, specially mentioning Mrs. Lane, Havelock North. .Mrs. Thomas. Levin, .Mrs. Goffv. Gisborne, in this connexion, and Mr. Kerslnke, Levin, for literary support. Locally Miss Fannin and the Misses M<CJuggagc gave acceptable gifts in At. tlie conclusion ot the meeting the president, entertained those present at afternoon tea at the Pioneer Club.
