54 JAPANESE PLANES
U.S. Naval Squadron’s Fine Record (British Official Wireless.) (Received August 5, 7 p.m.) RUGBY, August 4. The United States Navy Department has revealed that a single navy fighter squadron shot dowii 54 Japanese planes and probably 18 others in four separate actions in the Battle of the Coral Sea and Midway.
