Special Issue To Members Of Armed Forces NEW VALUES FOR FOOTWEAR "The issue of the special sheet of 15 coupons to all members of the armed forces in New Zealand has been completed, and all purchases of rationed clothing by members of the forces require the surrender of the appropriate number of clothing coupons,” said the Rationing Controller, Mr. J. E. Thomas, last night. Coupon values of footwear have been adjusted, and ■the following pointings apply as from August 3: —- Infants. — Infantees (soft soles), coupon free: boots, shoes, sandals and sand Shoes up to and including size 1, 1 coupon. Women and Girls. —Boots, shoes, sandals and sand shoes above size 1, 2 Coupons. Men and Boys.— Boots and shoes, size 2 up to size 5,2 coupons; boots and shoes, size 6 and over, 3 coupons; Sandals and Mind shoes, 2 coupons. Slippers remain in the coupon free list, and are defined as follows:—(1) Footwear including boots and shoes with uppers composed wholly or principally of felt or arctic cloth, whatever the nature of the sole or heel and whether having fastenings or not. (2) Footwear with soft leather soles or with carpet, string or felt soles whatever the 4 nature of the uppers or heels and whether having fastenings or not. (3) Footwear with hard leather or rubber soles and having uppers mada of material other than felt of arctic cloth, provided (a) that the article has no fastenings, and (b) that the height of the heel is not greater than 7-8 of an inch.
