HIMMLER-GOERING CONTEST
(Received August 3, 11.50 p.m.) LONDON, August 2. Tlie “Daily Telegraph” says that as a result of the compromise between Field Marshal Goering and the Gestapo chief, Heinrich Himmler, Hitler’s S.S. formations are now being given their own air force and Hitler, by a secret order, has promoted Himmler to tlie same rank as Goering, virtually-mean-ing that Goering is about to be ousted by liis old rival from his position as Nazi No. 2.
