OBITUARY

Mr. H. J. Lawrence The death occurred a few days ago in Wellington of Mr. 11. .1. Lawrence, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lawrence, Wallace Street, ami a grands’on of the late Mr. David Bell. Nii'enhn. Forty years of age, Mr. Lawrence was educated at the Newtown Primary School and at Wellington College, and at the time of his death was on the staff of the lIOUS7 ing Construction Department, lie was a keen sportsman and was a life member of the Wellington Mercantile Cricket League, and was its lion, secretary Iroui 11)27 to 1l)lio. To his efforts, the formation of a Mercantile League Umpires' Association in 1931 was almost, entirely due, Latterly his interests included Hie St. Peter's Scout. Troop. He is survived by his wife and one son.
