INCREASED SUPPORT
Egmont A. & P. Association
At the annual meeting of the Egmont A. and I’. Association, held recently, the president, Mr. E. A. Washer, commented upon the fact that "though this is the third year of the war the membership of the association stands at its highest peak. Subscriptions amount to £lOO6, which is a great response.” Reference was made to the increased support being given this body by town and country people alike, and the speaker reminded members that as trustees they had a duty to the young men overseas io see that the association was carried on for them. The balancesheet and statement of accounts revealed the sound financial policy followed, with all assets maintained in a good state of repair. Decision' us to the date of the annual show was left to the incoming committee. The secretary, Mr. 11. MeCay, reported that at a meeting of the Western District Council of the Royal Agricultural Society in Wanganui ail associations were urged to carry on the normal activities, even in cases where showgrounds were taken for military purposes.
