SOCIAL AND NATIONAL SECURITY CHARGES
The Commissioner of Taxes intimates that an instalment of the combined Social Security and National Security charge on income other than from salary or wages, falls due for payment on August 1. This charge is payable by all persons, male or female, 16. years of age or over, and also by companies not specifically exempted, and is levied on income derived during the year ended March 31, 1942. Men in receipt, of 1914-1919 war pensions for total disablement are exempt. An instalment (5/-) of the annual registration fee is also due on the same date, and must be paid within pne month by all male persons including Natives. Persons entitled to exemption through being in receipt of age benefit from the Social Security Fund may be liable for the payment if they fail, within seven days of the last date for payment, to present a claim for exemption. The. commissioner also reminds persons who have recently attained the age of 16 years that they are required to register under the Aet within one month of attaining the age.
