FRENCH FATS SHORTAGE
LONDON, July 29. The Paris “Soir” says that supplies of fats are 40,900 tons short of the French rations. Farmers have been compelled to relinquish 95 per cent, of their butter to communal collection. The Geneva newspaper “La Suisse” says Hint French children arriving there average nearly 101 b. under normal weight and moi-e than three inches below normal height, which is equivalent to a year behind normal development.
