WANAKA HOTEL
Still Open For Business
Lake Wanaka Hotel is still catering for the travelling public, according to advice received from the licensee yesterday, following the publication of a statement by the secretary of the National Council of the Licensed Trade of New Zealand, Mr. P. Coyle. From inquiries made of the Government by interested parties, it was believed that suspension of the licence due to the decrease in the number of travellers had taken place, Mr. Coyle said last night. As a result he had understood that
the regulations concerning the impact of war conditions on licensed houses had been designed with the ease of the Wanaka hotel in mind. It was regretted that the misunderstanding had risen, but at the same time he was pleased to know that the public and holiday-makers could still receive a, full service there.
