Australia’s Wool Cheque Australia’s wool cheque for the lfrll-42 season is £63.126.090, against £60.959,828 for 1940-41. The chairman of' the Central Wool Committee. Mr. Justice Owen, has Issued a statement showing that appraisements for '.194'1-42 were completed on June 30. Total bales appraised for the season 194.1-42 to June 30 were 3.577,!W>; total weight. 1.082.050,8041 b.; appraised value was £57,958,302. The average apprulsed price per- lb. greasy was 12.25911., which is 91.229 per cent, of the United Kingdom Government's purchase price of 13.4375 d. per lb. greasy. The differences between the appraise,! value and the value at the United Kingdom Government’s purchase price of 13.43754. is equivalent to 9.6138 per cent, of the appraised value. The committee will distribute on July 31 to suppliers of participating wools (he retention money of 5 per cent., withheld throiighout the season. This amounts to £2.710.844. . The committee will also pay on Hie same, date a flat rate adjustment payment to suppliers of participating wools of !)J .per cent., amounting to £5,167,7(41, making a. total payment on July 3'l of £7.887,548. equivalent to. 144 per cent, of the appraised value of participating wools.
