WOMEN IN UNIFORM
Recruiting Continued In spite of the unpleasant weather, more than 50 women .'lllll girls visited the .•ilr-r.'iid shelter in Wellington yesterday to enrol with the Fighting Services. The parade which was to have been held was postponed, but on Friday a large parade of women in uniform will mark the lilial day in the recruiting week llmt the W.W.S.A. Ims arranged. The depot at the shelter is staffed by girl members of the.armed forces and each lunch hour an officer representing the Navy. Army and Air Force is in attendance to answer inquiries. There is another recruiting depot situated at the W.W.S.A. information liiirctiu at the railway station. Much intercut has been created in the hourly displays of parachute folding and packing that members of the W.A.A.F. are giving at Kirkeaidie and Stains to .■rente interest in the appeal. The demonstrations are to be seen from JO till 5 each day. The main depot at tile air-raid shelter will bi- open on Friday night till 8.30 to receive enrolments. A special all-out drive lias been planned for that day, when the mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. (’■. A. ilislop, will be a speaker al. midday.
