INTOXICATED, TRUCK DRIVER
Found by a traffic inspector near lii* unligiited truck on the mall) highway south of Waikanae on 'Juesday night. Ivan Kirkpatrick Simpson, aged 00, was charged before Mr. Stout. S.M.. m the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday with being intoxicated while in charge of the truck. Senior-Sergeant (.. J Paine said that defendant was taken Io a doctor who certified that lie was unlit to drive. On behalf of defendant, Mr W. I*. Rollings said that Simpson had alighted Io attend to his lights. .Making a plea that he bq allowed to retain Jus licence, Mr. Rollings said a disability restricted defendant’s choice of work. . i. Stout fined him £25 and cancelled his licence for 12 nioiiths.
