POSITION OF AUSTRIA
WASHINGTON, July 27. The Secretary of Stale, Mr. Cordell Hull, replying to reporters’ request for clarification of the present position regarding Austria, in view of the celebration of Austrian Day last Saturday, said that the United States had never recognized Germany’s annexation of Austria, which the Reich took by force and illegally absorbed.
